CONFIDENTIALITY AND LIMITS

Your privacy is protected under California law,, Hawaii law, and professional ethics. However, we are required to break confidentiality in these situations:

• Risk of harm — If you are a danger to yourself or others
• Abuse — If we suspect abuse of a child, elder, or dependent adult
• Court orders — If a court legally requires records or testimony
• Insurance — Minimum necessary information for reimbursement

TELEHEALTH PRIVACY

  For telehealth sessions (available in California and Hawaii):

• We use encrypted, HIPAA-compliant video platforms
• You are responsible for ensuring privacy on your end (quiet, secure location)

YOUR RIGHTS

 You have the right to:

• Access your health records
• Request corrections to inaccurate records
• Limit disclosures of your information
• Request confidential communication methods

File a privacy complaint with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences or U.S. Department of Health & Human Services if needed
